Push Camera Inspections

Push Camera Inspection Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast & Beyond

For smaller diameter pipes between 50mm and 100mm, Drain Tech Australia uses a remotely powered push camera inspection system to inspect areas where standard CCTV tractor access may not be suitable. This portable system can be set up in difficult access locations, including rooftops, bushland areas, factories, offices, commercial buildings and other confined or hard-to-reach sites.

Push camera inspections are ideal for short pipe runs, internal drainage, small diameter lines and assets with limited access points. The camera is manually pushed through the pipe by our trained operators, allowing live footage to be reviewed during the inspection while defects, blockages, intrusions, displaced joints, damaged pipe sections and debris build-up are identified.

Inspection footage and observations can then be compiled into a detailed report using WinCan VX reporting software. Reports may include asset condition grading, defect and observation photos, line meterage locations, inspection notes and video footage supplied by USB or internet transfer where required. This information helps asset owners make informed decisions about cleaning, repair, replacement or maintenance works.

Best Suited For

Small diameter pipes and tight access areas

Short pipe runs, internal drainage and service lines

Assets where tractor CCTV access is not suitable

More Information
What Push Camera Inspection Is Used For

Push camera inspection is used to inspect smaller diameter pipes, short pipe runs, internal drainage lines and assets where a robotic CCTV tractor cannot practically access.

It helps identify blockages, cracks, breaks, root intrusion, displaced joints, debris, damaged pipe sections and other issues affecting drainage performance.

How the Inspection Is Completed

The camera is manually pushed through the pipe from a suitable access point such as an inspection opening, pit, gully, clean-out or chamber.

As the camera travels through the pipe, our operator reviews the footage in real time and records visible defects, restrictions, blockages and general pipe condition observations.

What the Report Includes

The final report can include inspection footage, asset details, defect observations, still images, condition notes and recommendations where required.

Reports can be tailored to suit commercial, civil, maintenance, property investigation or asset handover requirements.

When Push Camera Inspection Is the Best Option

Push camera inspection is best suited when access is limited, the pipe is too small for a CCTV tractor, or only a short section of pipe needs to be inspected.

It is commonly used for internal drainage, smaller service lines, commercial plumbing investigations, blockage checks and assets that require quick visual confirmation.
